Directions
From the east on A149 (coast road):
If you are approaching Kelling on the coast road A149 from Cromer, via Sheringham, look out for Weybourne village. Carry straight on through and Kelling is the next village. As you enter Kelling village you will pass The Pheasant Hotel on your left. At the bottom of the hill, turn left at the war memorial on to The Street, keeping the The Old Reading Room Tearooms and Gallery on your right. Violet Cottage is a few hundred metres further along The Street, on your left, just after the red postbox but before the red telephone box on the right.
From the west on A149 (coast road):
If you are approaching Kelling on the coast road A149 from the west, you will drive though Cley-next-the-Sea and Salthouse, passing the Dun Cow public house on your right, with the sea on your left. Continue on the road towards Kelling. As you come down the hill into the village, you will pass Kelling Primary School on the left. At the bottom of the hill, turn right at the war memorial / The Old Reading Room Tearooms and Gallery onto The Street. Violet cottage is approximately 100m further, on your left, just before the red telephone box on the right.
From Holt town centre:
Follow the High Street through Holt onto Cromer Road; you will pass a BP petrol station on your left (with small Co-op supermarket), shortly followed by Gresham’s Preparatory School on your right, where you should turn left onto Kelling Road. This will take you out of Holt, passing Holt Rugby Club grounds and on into a delightfully wooded area as you drive north. You will arrive at a junction signed ‘Kelling’ and ‘High Kelling’, where you should bear left towards Kelling. This will lead you to The Street in Kelling. Continue along the street (it is narrow so be on the look out for oncoming cars and pedestrians) until you spot the red telephone box on the left. The entrance to The Old Dairy is immediately on the right, over the small stream, and your parking space is at the far end, directly in front of Violet Cottage, which is No 3 The Old Dairy.
